We are a crafting, quilting, embroidering couple from Florida. My husband, Chris, works full time in IT Security, and I am a math tutor, independently employed. We spend our free time together quilting and crafting. My grandmother, Lenore, taught me to sew and knit when I was 4. (I had a habit of taking things apart and I think she was trying to keep me from disassembling the refrigerator again.) I was hooked!! I love to sew - especially quilt and embroider. I do counted cross stitch and am now designing my own patterns and kits. Quilting and embroidering on the quilts has become my passion. I got my husband, Chris, involved a couple of years ago and he agrees with me - it is as addicting as it is fun! Now, it is our hobby together. Chris has been crafting since he was young when his mother used to involve her children in a lot of crafts. He particularly enjoys making chainmaille and using any "techy" tool available for quilting and embroidery. Chris is very good at detail work and making sure everything is finished and polished.
My grandparents, Frank and Lenore Balkan, ran an antique and gift shop in Moline, Illinois, called "The Brass Bell." We have continued their legacy of high quality products and pride in our work. Our business is named, "The Brass Bell" but unfortunately, that name was already taken on Etsy. So, we are currently searching for a shop name on Etsy that reflects our products and ideals.
We put good energy and positive thoughts into all of our projects. We guarantee the quality of our products and provide washing instructions where appropriate. All of our quilts are machine washable unless noted. Custom orders are available.
